Looking For A Couch? 7 Sectionals On My Short List

Whether you’re in the market for a couch, or you may be soon, I can say I’ve been looking for months now and it’s not easy.  There are literally thousands of options out there.  One piece of advice?  You really need to go look in person, do not purchase anything online.  While it may be a little more work, nothing looks the same as it does online, AND you get to see all the options and fabrics.  Oh, and not to mention all the insider tips on upcoming discounts and sales.

I’ve finally narrowed my search and created a short list.  For years I’ve been dying for two things:  A sectional couch, and a white couch.  And while the latter is likely not possible with two kids and a husband (sorry baby!), I definitely have my eye set on a few beautiful sectionals.

1.  Restoration Hardware Cloud Modular Collection

While it’s not easy on the pocket book, Restoration Hardware is never short of beautiful, quality pieces of furniture.  I have always LOVED this store. I’m into wide, deep cushions, and this definitely hit the mark.

Also, FYI, it’s super comfy, AND if you have kids, it comes in performance fabric.  I’ve quickly learned that this means it’s super easy to get any stains out, even that glass of wine you pour at the end of a hard work day.  And of course, comes in dozens of different colors and custom sizes in the store.  Check it out here.

2. Crate&Barrel Lotus Modular Sectional

This is SOOOOO comfy.  I could’ve fallen asleep in the store.  Again, I love the deep and wide cushions.  And, as with the Restoration Hardware piece, you can customize this with fabrics and add/remove pieces.  Check it out here.

3. Crate & Barrel Lounge II Sectional Sofa

This picture seriously does not do it justice.  Though it comes in multiple fabrics, this color is absolutely beautiful in person.  And the couch really stands out.  Which is why I cannot stress this enough, do NOT buy a couch online.  Go look in the store first, they do not look the same.  This couch comes in different sizes and fabrics, check it out here.

4.  Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Big Easy Sectional Sofa

Again, comes in different sizes and fabrics and is totally customizable.  I’ve quickly learned that most couches can be customized and it’s the coolest thing ever.  I love this for the same reasons as the others, it’s deep, wide, and totally comfy.  Check it out here.

5.  Design Within Reach Kelston Sectional With Chaise

Ok, this is the most expensive piece in this post, but probably the most unique in my opinion.  Again, deep and wide cushions, and super comfy.  I really LOVE this piece.  As with the others, the size and color of this couch is totally customizable, check it out here.

6.  Z Gallerie Del Mar Daybed Sectional

I really loved this piece, and it was super comfy.  As with the others, I love the wide and deep cushions.  It can also be customized to get bigger/smaller, and has multiple fabrics to choose from.  You can check it out here.

7.  Pottery Barn York Collection

Ok, I know I said I was looking for a sectional.  BUT, I love wide cushions.  And, well, Pottery Barn always makes quality pieces.  I have a weird thing with multiple small cushions, and a great love for wide single cushions like you see here (as the base).

It’s also a super deep couch, and I really love that.  It’s way more beautiful in person, is super comfy, and the slipcover can be removed and washed (for those of us with kids and husbands).  You can check it out here.

Alright guys, in sum?

  1. Don’t buy a couch online, go see it in person.
  2. Get all the insider tips on any sales or promotions coming up.  There is ALWAYS a cheaper option for EVERYTHING.  Some offer first time buyers sales, others have memberships, others have semi annual sales.  Be patient, don’t pay full price.  Like, ever.
  3. Ask about performance fabrics if you have kiddos (or husbands!)
  4. Invest in a good couch, it will last you longer.

Lastly, no I was not paid to do this post.  Be sure to check out all the local stores in your area if you don’t have any of these in your city.

Love,

Deema
