6 Runner Rugs Under $100

So I’ve been admiring kitchen runner rugs on Instagram for months now.  And I’m just like, damnit I want one.  I have a long kitchen, and a runner rug would be perfect.  My house is mostly neutral colors, but I have to say I’ve been loving the bold colored rugs I’ve seen and kinda want that pop of color.  I’ve been on the search for one, and well, that means I’ve created a short list.   Below are 6 of my top picks under $100.

Also, I don’t know about you, but I base most of my purchases off of reviews.  Especially when it’s a TON of reviews that are good.  As opposed to like 3 people that may have given it a glowing review.  Therefore, I’ve included that info below too.

1. Darchelle Beige/Pink Rug

IMG_7877

You can find this on Joss & Main here.  Out of 1249 reviews, this got 4.8 out of 5 stars.

2. Cearbhall Beige Rug

Alrighty, if you’re in the market for a rug, I hope that was helpful.  And if you just like looking at rugs in your free time, that’s cool too, I’m not judging you.

Deema

6 Reasons To Buy Faux Flowers

I love having flowers in my home, but I don’t exactly have an endless cash flow to replace those suckers every week.  Look, I know there is nothing like fresh flowers.  And I think it’s great that your friend Casey has fresh Peonies delivered to her home every Wednesday.  But I’m on a budget, and I like to spend my extra money on trips to HomeGoods, or something that lasts longer than 3 days. The Stuff Inside Your Cabinet Should Be Pretty Too.

I don’t know about you, but there was a time in my life when my mug selection consisted of a bunch of random mugs that I had collected over the years.  My cabinet literally looked like a cluttered garage sale table packed up on my shelves.  Well, at some point I decided I wanted to be an adult, and I wanted all my mugs to match.  And just like my post about Reusable Grocery Bags, I said bye-bye to all those random mugs, and hello to a nice set of matching mugs.  Besides, do you really want your guests drinking from a bunch of different mugs with random logos and markers on them?  I know I don’t.  And if you’re in the market for new mugs, below are some of my favorites currently on the market.

1. Alphabet Mugs From Pottery Barn

IMG_5948

Pottery Barn was my first love when it came to home stuff, and they are never short of quality, super cute pieces.  These are $7 a piece, and you can get them here.

2. Monogram Mug From Anthropologie

IMG_5951

Love Anthropologie?  Didn’t know they have home stuff?  Well they do, and these are super cute.  These are $8 a piece, and you can get them here.

3. Teverson Mugs from Wayfair

IMG_5952

I’ve always loved clear mugs.  I think they’re the coolest thing ever, and I don’t see them enough.  I also love the shape of these.  You can get a set of 4 for $27.99 at Wayfair here.  These may be my favorite on this list.

4.  All In Good Taste Deco Dot Mug from Kate Spade

IMG_5954

I LOVE Kate Spade.  Always have, and always will.  These are simple, chic, and I bet you would feel fancy drinking from them.  You can get these for $7 each on Wayfair here.

5. Rae Dunn Mugs

IMG_5955

I’m sure you’ve seen these all over the place.  You can find them on some random sites, but I intentionally didn’t list one here because Marshalls, TJMaxx, AND HomeGoods all have them for much cheaper.

IMG_5958

I see them all the time, and they’re typically $3 to $5 a piece.  I love the font, love the size, and of course the neutral colors.  They come in so many different words.

IMG_5956

6.  Speckled Monogram Mug from World Market

IMG_5959

Last, but not least, you can get these for $3.98 at World Market here.  The current mugs I own are actually from World Market too, but unfortunately a few years old and not sold in stores anymore.  They have lasted me a really long time, and are great quality.

Alright guys, I hope I’ve inspired you to go home and match up those mugs.  I promise you, it’s the adult thing to do.

Love,

Deema

10 Reasons To Check Out Painted Fox Home

I recently joined Instagram, and every day I discover new shops that I absolutely fall in love with.  One in particular, is Painted Fox Home.  Rarely do I find a store where I literally love almost everything I see.  Literally, everything.  They have everything from home decor, to lighting, furniture, bags, kitchen & dining stuff, window coverings…etc.

They have a very antique farmhouse vintage feel, and honestly some really unique finds.  They also have some great industrial pieces and lighting.  And while it was truly difficult to only highlight 10 things, below is just a taste of why I fell in love with Painted Fox Home.

1.  Bags

IMG_5252

First of all, I travel a lot, and I would definitely use every single one they have to offer.  Second of all, as a home decor junkie, I first saw this bag used as a home prop on a bench and was instantly in love.  It’s basically a 2 for 1.  And the only reason I haven’t bought one yet, is because I can’t decide on which one I like the best.  Check out all the bags with different colors and words and styles here.

2.  Cheeky Home Accents

IMG_5270

I instantly fell in love with this.  For those of you who aren’t Mean Girls fanatics, this is totally a reference.  And if you’ve read any of my other posts, you know how much I love cheeky home accessories.

IMG_5261

This one’s totally my second favorite.  You can get this here.

3.  Stop Watch Clock

IMG_5250

I love clocks, especially large wall clocks.  I thought this clock was super cute and unique, and if I didn’t already have multiple wall clocks, I would’ve bought it.  You can get this stop watch clock here.

4.  Cotton Decor

IMG_5269

I LOVE these!!!!

IMG_5268

They have more, but these are just a few of the ones I saw and loved.

IMG_5267

You can get these super cute cotton stems here.

IMG_5259

You can totally use this one outside, on your door, in your home, for the holidays, or really anywhere.  I love burlap, I love my neutrals, and these are seriously so cute.  Link is here.

IMG_5262

Lastly, another cotton wreath, but minus the burlap.  You can get this one here.

5. Sylvester Mirror

IMG_5260

I LOVE mirrors, and this rustic mirror isn’t like anything I have seen before.  You can get it here.

6.  Iris Wall Shelf

IMG_5263

I love wall shelves, and I love neutral colors.  These are beautiful, and you can get them here.

7.  Coat Rack

IMG_5264

I thought this was such a unique coat rack.  You can check it out and other angles here.  Such a cute idea.

8.  Oxford Roll

IMG_5255

I’m obsessed with brown paper.

IMG_5256

This would be such a cute addition to a kitchen, hallway, laundry room, or even a kid’s room.  Check it out here.

9.  Lighting

IMG_5253

I’m not even sure if this is my favorite, they have SO MANY great ones.  I love the industrial style.  You can get this one here, but check out all their lighting here.  They’re not just ceiling lights, they have wall, table, and standing lights.

10.  Cellar Tray

IMG_5254

This would look great on my farmhouse kitchen table, for organizing decor, serving cheese or bread, or many other things.  I LOVE trays, and I love this one.  Check it out here.

Alright guys, I did not get paid to do this post, I just fell in love with this store.  Check out everything else on their website here, and be sure to follow them on Instagram.  I hope you go shopping, I know I will.

If You Love Michaels, Read This. 6 Tips For A Great Deal.

I’ve always loved Michaels.  In the past I have gone for DIY accessories, and all my baking needs.  And more recently, I’ve been going for all my framing needs. However, just a few weeks ago, the corner of my eye caught a glimpse of some of their home decor stuff.

IMG_4975

I was literally carrying two large heavy frames, about to walk out the door, and turned back just to walk down the aisle of Home Decor.

IMG_4976

Guys, they have really cute stuff.  Especially if you like farmhouse style Decor.  BUT, I was a little bummed how expensive everything was.  I’m so used to the great deals I get at HomeGoods, and I was not loving the prices.  However, I’ve learned that they ALWAYS have a sale, and you can ALWAYS use a coupon.  So if you’re not into paying full price for anything, and love Michaels, please read on.

1.  Coupons

IMG_4980

After most purchases in the store, you almost always get a coupon.  Save those, you can use them for the next purchase.  Sometimes they’re lame, sometimes they’re really good ones like 40% or 50% coupons.

2.  Online purchases are always cheaper

IMG_4979

Ok, so this is the big one.  Most of the good deals are online, and you will not see them in the store–AND you can combine both.  Just the other day I was about to buy a clock in the store that I saw was 40% off.

IMG_4904

Because I had been checking the website so often, I knew they had a 20% off sale (including sale items) that wasn’t available in the store.  So what did I do?  I literally bought it from my phone and did In Store Pickup.  If I purchased it in the store, it would have only been 40% off (gasp).  Moral of the story?  Check the website for all the good discounts.  That wall clock is still listed online for $80 (I got it for $32), you can check it out here.

3.  Email alerts

IMG_4977

If you don’t want to check the website everyday, sign up for email alerts for all the good discounts.  This is how I got my frames for so cheap, I did their buy one get the other 50% off sale.

4.  Price match

IMG_4978

Many of you may not know this, but Michael’s also offers a price match guarantee.  If you find the same thing at another retailer for cheaper, they will match it.

5.  Everyday Value

IMG_4981

They have stuff that’s always cheap and never goes on sale.  This is kind of like that section at Target when you first walk in.  You know what I’m talking about?  That super cheap section where everything is around a buck each?  I got a 12-pack of 16 ounce mason jars the other day for only $9.  Check out their website, they have a ton of stuff for just a dollar each too.

6.  Bulk packs

IMG_4982

Ok, this is not something I have utilized,  but I did notice they have.  So if you buy stuff in bulk, I see they have stuff for 50%.  I don’t have a ton of stuff I buy in bulk, but if you are into crafts or are a big DIYer, that’s probably something you should check out.

Alright guys, I wish I could’ve copy and pasted every single thing I loved on their website, but there were too many.  All the pictures (except the two in home pictures)  were taken from their website so check them out here.  And, no, I did not get paid to promote Michaels or any of the items here.

Deema

7 Reasons You Need A Letter Board In Your Life.

Have you seen those letter boards all over the internet?  If you haven’t, you are seriously missing out.  They have brought such joy to my life, almost more than my own children.  After obsessing over them for weeks, I finally bought one.  And I can assure you, I did not regret it.

IMG_4888

You want one?  I got mine at Amazon.  However, you can get them at Target or anywhere else you probably already shop anyway.  They come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors.  I got mine HERE, and it came with the board, 620 letters/numbers/symbols (lower and upper case), two letter bags, AND a lifetime warranty.  Not sure if you want one?  Let me convince you…

1.  Cost

They definitely don’t break the bank.  They start at $12.99, and I got the large one for $30.  There’s actually a larger one at Khol’s for $24.99.  However, the one from Amazon has 4 times as many letters/numbers/symbols included, and that’s important.  They also come with these little bags to store all those pieces in..

IMG_4887

2.  Reusable

IMG_4763

It’s really the gift that keeps on giving.  I just got mine 10 days ago and I’ve already changed the quote roughly 1,567 times.

3.  Easy

OMG, you have no idea.  Again, I’m reviewing the one I bought on Amazon.  It is incredibly easy to put the letters on and off.  They’re basically letters with something poking out the back like this..

IMG_4885

And you simply insert them into one of the lines on the board in half a second.  They go in and out super quick.

4.  Eye Candy

IMG_4881

No matter where you end up putting your sign, it really lightens up a room.  And depending on the quote, it’s really the central focus of a room.

5.  Totally versatile

IMG_4886

On the note of it lighting up a room, you can really move this from room to room, and from the wall  (yes it has a hook on the back), to a table, a shelf, a chair…etc.  You can use it for a grocery list, a menu, a to do list for the week, in your office…etc

6.  Great prop for pictures

IMG_4883

I’m already thinking of the different ways I can use this sign for guests, parties, and special occasions.  This really highlights a picture.  Look how it really lifts up my cheek bones, knocks years off my age, and makes me look super skinny.  It’s like magic.

7.  Drives Creativity

IMG_4850

Look, a ton of people use them for inspirational quotes, and I really love those.  However, sarcasm is more my style, and this board really gets me excited to share some of that dry humor.  And creativity is good for the brain, and since helping your brain is good, I’m convinced this letter board will make you live longer.  And well, that’s enough of a reason to buy one in my opinion.

Alright guys, go out and buy one.  I promise you won’t regret it.   And no, I did not get paid to review these.

Towels You Will LOVE.

I have a feeling that before you read this today, there’s a chance you didn’t think twice about the towels in your home.  Well, thank God I’m always here to add one other thing for you to stress about, right?  Guys, towels need to be cute.  They can’t just hang there in your bathroom like an eye sore.  Ok, yes they have a function.  But they’re also a great decorative accessory to your bathroom.  They should typically be the same color scheme as the other towels, and they should match everything else in your bathroom.  And for the love of God, unless you’re a starving college student, they should not have holes or bleach marks on them.  You. Know. Who. You. Are.

I don’t know about you, but the towels in my home have been outdated for awhile now.  And while I always buy towels of the same color, over the years the shades are all different now.   So what did I do?  What any other normal person would do, I had tunnel vision and I scrolled the internet obsessively until I found the towels that I loved.  And find something I did.  It was love at first sight.  On Instagram, that is.

IMG_3802

So I’ve heard of Turkish towels before, but I’ve heard they’re kinda hit or miss.  BUT, I love these towels.  I bought these by Bosphorus on Amazon in grey, and I’m going to tell you WHY I’m obsessed.

1. GORGEOUS

IMG_3801

Ok, seriously, these are absolute eye candy.  They’re beautiful, they’re elegant, and they actually look like a throw blanket.  They look straight out of a magazine, and well, THEY. MAKE. ME. HAPPY.

2. Functionality

Ok, so they’re super thin.  I mean, really thin. BUT, they dry really well.  They actually dry better than my other towels.  I have to admit, it felt weird wrapping myself in a paper thin towel the first time, but it really did dry super fast.

3.  Space saver

IMG_3811

So these come in a pack of 4, and when they first arrived in the mail, I was really confused why the box was small.  But, they were all there.  And you know what that means?  It saves a ton of space in your home, AND if you’re traveling.  I read in the reviews that a ton of people take these to the beach.  And as a family of four, 4 thick regular towels take up a TON of space.

And BONUS!  How annoying is it when you have to cram all those thick towels in your washer, sometimes in two loads?  Ya, no these fit easily with plenty of room to spare.

4.  Time Saver

Yes people, they dry super fast.  I put these suckers in the dryer and it was dry in minutes.  That’s less time waiting, and more time for everything else.  Like watching the Real Housewives, or shopping for more towels.

5.  Kid Approved

IMG_3808

Because I’m sure that my kids approval is what’s going to tip your opinion over the edge.  But, they really did love these.

IMG_3813

Ok, now go obsess over the towels in your home.  Whether it’s these towels, or other acceptable towels.  And if yours are already beautiful, then congratulations.  And no, I didn’t get paid to review these.  I really wish I did though, someone call me.

Love,

Deema
